I'm Coming off a High from One of Those Infamous American Idol Montages, but...

I have to admit...American Idol truly is a celebration of life...the beautiful...the pitiful...and the amazingly talented hidden treasures lurking behind faces in the crowd.

I really liked lip-ring girl...and the woman who sang "Think."

Discuss Wednesday night AI here.

1. SO glad the main auditions are over...although tonight was rather painless.

2. 170-some made it through this year? Weren't there over 200 last year?

3. I have a confession to make...the evil, Simon-like part of myself just looooves Hollywood Week. You can keep your crappy auditions, but when people actually have a chance to make it and they get it snatched away...that is true angst right there. It may make me a bad person, but that identifies with my masochistic side, I guess. It also serves as an interesting character study...just how far people have to be pushed before they crack.

4. Did the cowboy from last year make it through again? I liked that guy, hehe.

5. Favorite line, from the "day jobs" part: "I'm a hillbilly!" Ahaha.

The best moment tonight? The dance montage, featuring Ryan shaking his booty. Whoo-hoo!

NOW I am ready for Hollywood week!

Ryan has a puppy on his shirt!

I liked Lakisha; we'll have to see how she holds up. But I really liked Tami (Janis Joplin looking girl) too, and she had great charisma.

At last, some likable girls in this bunch. So far, the boys have been stealing the thunder.

Ryan is too adorable this year.

Holeigh and Shelley, I love Hollywood week too. It is so angsty! I will be laughing "maniacally" along w/you (is that what you were going for Shelley?)

Fro Patro!! I'll also be watching for Melissa Doolittle.

At least there was no man-boob massage by Simon tongight--what a relief.

Ryan is a wee little cutie.

I have to finish work before I allow myself to go watch AI -- I can hear my son laughing uproariously in the other room.

Hahaha, Shell, we already knew that! ;) And now lee can join us, awesome, hehe.

Guess what! One of my roommates is friends somehow with Lakisha! She actually brought her up on the first night of auditions. "When are they gonna show San Antonion? That's where my friend auditioned and she got through!"

Can't wait 'til next week!

Thank you so much for the fabulous prize of the day! I'd like to thank everyone who made this possible. The Monkbot Academy, God, my parents, and of course, Ryan Seacrest.

I liked Tami too. Having her in the competition would make things quite interesting. However, her voice might not translate into other genres...I guess we'll see!

I also really liked that roller skating girl. The only one that could actually sing, ya know? I can't remember her name right now, but her voice gave me chills...and she was drop dead gorgeous!

The only man I really liked was Little Ruben! We need to find out these peeps names!

I can't wait for Hollywood week! I'm always amazed at the folks that get there and then blow off the opportunity by goofing around and not learning their lines.

yeah -- much prefer hollywood week to audition week. Too much cringe-factor for my taste and I cannot keep anyone straight. Except for Sean and Chris...

I forgot about Lakisha. I bet, if she makes it through to the top 24...she'll make it to the top 12.

Chris Sligh is my man right now. I'm curious to see if he remains as funny as he was in the auditions. I don't remember seeing him in the Hollywood montage. Do y'all?

I'm positive he's gonna be in the top 24...prolly the top 12 too.

Bama , all the clues point to Chris Sligh making it very far. He had a blog about his American Idol experience, and it was taken off the day after he auditioned (that's where I first read "Fro Patro"). I'm anxious to hear him sing a variety of song genres.

Me too Lee! I've been visiting his blog off and on. He responded to some of my comments on his Taylor Vs. Daughtry post. I noticed he hasn't been commenting lately so I hope that means he's getting ready for the Top 24!!

Fro Patro!

Bama - I'm also floored by the people who make you go "THEY made it throught??!!?" at Hollywood Weed. It never fails that there are people there who are just B-A-D.

Is this a continuation of yesterday's conversation? ;)

I liked lip ring girl and Ebony and Lakisha. It was definately "Girl's Night" last night.

...I kinda preferred the other comments, my at home dial-up hates this pop up box, haha.

I find it funny how these nameless people that are easily confused will soon be known by first names or nicknames by all, haha. Cuz I only know about 4 of them by name right now.

Oh whoops! No Shrew, that was an accident. Apparently, I can't type today, thus "weird" is now "weed."

In a couple of months the name Chris will no longer be conotated in a negative way.

Is Ebony the roller skate girl?? I loved her!

That's the exact article I read after I saw it on the news

Yeah, she might've died from alcohol, drugs or suicide...but since she just died, and it'll be all over the news...gossip, truth, lies...in about two minutes...I think I'll try to give her my silence for the time being.

No matter how she died, she was a hurting and troubled woman and I only wish someone could have reached out to her with God's love and truth...
