Pavlovian Conditioning and Meredith's Long Walk off a Short Pier

I loved the opening segment of "The Office" with Jim conditioning Dwight to want an Altoid when the computer beeps. Classic.

What I didn't love was the rest of the show. It was pretty lame...except for Kelly's special circumstance for wearing white to Phyllis' wedding..."'cause I look good in white."

The whole thing with Jim and Pam was pathetic. I would have settled for the longing glances rather than the miscommunication and contrived emotional mire we were left with.

And...as much as I love Michael...his schtick got really old and really unbelievable.

Not the best episode.

---

On the other hand...we had "Grey's Anatomy." Other than the Christina/Burke tension (can't they give it a rest for at least ONE episode), the show was phenomenal.

I loved that Karev is getting such a heart. His score on the Shelley Sexy-o-meter is about a 7 out of 10...it had been about a 3 out of 10. Keep it up Karev.

Callie...totally back to irritating the ever-lovin' crap out of me.

Why couldn't Callie get knocked off the pier instead of Meredith?

---

Um...yeah...I know I said I was going to "reclaim my life" and tape Thursday night T.V.

I couldn't do it. I HAD to watch.

I did cut out Sunday nights, totally...and "Studio 60," totally.

I guess I'm gonna have to take baby steps.

So sue me.

Shelley, I agree about The Office tonight. Michael was way over the top, way too cringey like he was when the show started.

I don't know what to think about Jim & Pam. I think Jim can't get past her rejecting him last time. And Karen belting out Police songs with the band was pretty funny!

I think I may give up Studio 60 too. I wanted that show to be good. I lurve Aaron Sorkin, lurved The West Wing, lurve Matthew Perry. But it is just draggy and dull. One show that I do think is worth the time and not enough people are watching is Friday Night Lights. That show is amazing. I think I'd give up AI before I gave that one up. The acting is so good, I could cry almost every week. And Kyle Chandler is even cuter than Ryan Seacrest.

Can someone please tell me why "The Vegas Wife" was all crying and whiney and slobbering when George couldn't make a commitment to her....and now she's married to the sweet man and she's all like "I'm not your wife right now. I'm your boss!"????

What an overdone hairy beastie. I'm with you, Shelley, on her being the one knocked into the ocean.

Although, Merry was getting on my last nerve with that little girl last night. She spent half the episode walking around with her and acting like she didn't know what to do with her. I was screaming at the tv: "PEOPLE ARE DYING!!!! GIVE THAT CHILD TO SOMEONE!!!" Arrrgh!! She coulda been helping save people (plural) instead of babysitting. You can't tell me that there was no one to give the kid to.

And what was up with her trying to drown herself in the bathtub??

The Office: Totally agree about Michael. Overdone!!! I was disappointed! (Although Jim looked adorable!)

One day, you all will recognize my Libra Dragon sensibilities and overwhelming wisdom. Was it NOT, moi, who picked Karev? Just remember in TV Land, all "bad" guys "go good" eventually.

Besides I still picture him from his "Wedding Planner" little Italian guy, sensitive role. HAWT!

Totally off topic here, but please keep our own little Hickschick4soul in your thoughts and prayers. She wasn't feeling very well last night and woke up this morning unable to breathe (she has asthma) and 102 temp. DH took her to the MD, and they sent her to the hospital. She may have pneumonia. She was looking pretty peaked and pitiful this am (no wonder, she was getting no oxygen). Thanks!

Sorry to hear about your daughter, leejolem! Hope she is doing better.

Meredith falling off the pier was like W.T.F. I just sat there with my mouth open. And let me guess ... her knight in shining "whatever" will save the day! I too was annoyed with her and the little girl. I also have to point out how freaked out I was by the pregnant woman's face - man! I could so never been in the medical field!

I was also getting annoyed with the men badgering Izzie to help their friend. They should have shut their traps and at least TRIED to do something productive!

How funny was that elevator ride with all of them and Weber? I was chuckling.

Sending prayers your way Lee---as an asthmatic I can relate...been in her situation more times than I could count. Please know we're thinking of her and hoping she has a speedy recovery!

And since I don't watch those shows, I can't comment on them. Sorry! Now if anyone wants to talk about Lost, on the other hand.... ;)

Bama! Me too....what'd you think about the whole bus obliterating the ex-husband thing?! POW! Didn't see that one coming...boy, it just gets weirder and weirder! Love it! I love that every little bit more they show you, leads to more questions than answers. Drives me crazy! But I love it....addicting. :)

Thanks everyone!!! HC4S is back from the hospital. Very bad bronchitis, but no pneumonia. Good thing DH was home and could take her to the MD, or it could have gone to pneumonia over the weekend. She's feeling better now that she can breathe.
(boy, the things that girl will do to get Taylor's attention--lol)

Late to the party, and slightly OT. I know you guys have mentioned this before but:

I
am
seriously
crushing
on
Ryan
this
year.

What is UP with that??? I don't usually go for the "metro" type, but I gotta say, his deadpan humour during the auditions has me gettin' all fangirly and smiley. Good God, I can't believe I just admitted that.....

Lee, I hope Li'l HC4S is feeling much better today. Monkbot hugs your way!!

Shelley, I think I need a cigarette, and I don't even smoke!!! :) Dang.

I think even Tyra was crushing on him a little.

I know there have been rumours about Ryan's, um, preferences, but heck, if even Teri Hatcher couldn't keep him, then I think my chances are pretty slim anyway.... :)

Seriously, I think I'll be watching Idol just to see HIM this year.

How about a Ryan appreciation post, Shelley? Just for us gals...
