Aw Shell, thanks for the upcoming food thread. Even I, as a card-carrying member of the Chocolate Mafia, could see that we were infiltrating every thread ;) I see some nice recipe exchanges coming up.

And Sadie is just the cutest thing!!! Aren't dogs so beautiful with their trusting eyes and wagging tails?

*wants to get a dog real, real bad but can't cos she lives in an apartment block. is sad :(*

I heart Sadie!! I love the way she was wagging her tail but wouldn't look at the camera. What would we do w/o our canine buddies? Mu-shu (our sharpei) and Bob (our evil jack russell/boston terrier/chiahuaha mix) wave hello to Sadie and politely sniff her hindquarters as doggies do to get to know one another.

Why no peanut butter? Did I miss something?

It's not that I'm obsessed with food--it's the antics of Rowan and Claire that draw me in. They've turned me into a Cadbury egg revolutionary.

Just about doggies - I was flicking through the TV stations earlier and I caught an episode of Steve Irwin's (RIP) Australia Zoo series. It was so sad. It was the episode where Sue-ee (Steve's dog) passed away from cancer. He just lay with her on the floor when she came home from the vets and stayed with her/slept with her until she passed away. I.was.bawling. (and so was poor Steve.)

Isn't it amazing how smelly, furry, slipper-eating hairballs become part of our lives that we cannot bear to be without.

*misses her doggy who died four years ago...(x x Brownie)*

Sorry Shelley, don't mean to bring the mood down......Lee!!! I ate TWO of The Things that Dare Not Speak Their Names today. (REVOLUCION!!)

And Shrewbie!! Just before I read your post, I had returned from the supermarket where I bought a large tub of peanut butter. The crunchy variety. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....

Amigo will come from the far reaches of the house to the sound of the peanut butter jar lid being removed. He also has a pavlovian response to the toaster, since I usually have peanut butter on my toast. Shelley, your food topic will come none too soon, considering the way we've hijacked this one!

Grrrr -- I had to take my salmonella-butter back to the store. Not quite at the point of checking out the symptoms on the internet, but am keeping a sharp eye on Sam.

I still love peanut butter.

Hi to Sadie from my two wuppies -- they are curled up in their beds.

FOOOOOOD!!!

(Hey, did that make Sadie look up?)

I like peanut butter too. But the homemade kind. I'll have it with toast now and then, but more often, I just have it with a spoon.

But oddly enough, those are the only two ways I'll eat it. Me no likey PB cookies, PB ice cream, PB chocolates ...

Oh, I almost forgot. There's a third way I'll eat it. My mom makes the best kare kare, which is a Filipino dish that resembles a classic African peanut stew. I know that probably sounds gross to you, but it's yummy!

Hmm. Haven't had it in a while though. Why did I have to go make myself hungry so early in the morning?

Ivory, I make a coconut/pb thai chicken recipe that is too die for. I know this isn't the food thread, but I had to add this. So good to hear from you again Ivory!!! I've actually tasted an African PB stew in high school. OUr church hosted a missionary family from Africa and the mom made it. It was yummy.

Ooh, thanks for reminding me, Lee! Make that a fourth way I like PB - in satay!

Yeah, I can see how our threads are all leading to food ...

So glad to be back online too, Lee!
