Mind Doc...you touch so many lives, both professionally and online. When I hear this song...I think about what life must be like for you...helping those who need your counsel.

Taylor...you are such a special...and very unique...guy, so I just had to get this for you for Christmas. Thank you for all you do and for making our lives so soulful.

Gray...I know I gave you a special prize at your site...but I just had to add this little gift for you under the Monkbot Christmas tree.

Finally, to all my little Monkbots. You are each so very special to me and to each other. I know a little 7-year-old girl named Molly who is about the cutest kid ever. She made up a great phrase to describe things that are better than great...she calls those things "taco special." Well, I think all my Monkbots are very, very, very taco special. So, to y'all, I give to you a song that I wrote for little Molly back in March.

Merry Christmas!

Ok, Baby Duck, be patient with me! Give me 24 hrs or so to figure this egifting thing out!!! But for now I leave you with a couple of my favorite Taylor quotes:
"Humor is the sincerest form of flattery"
"Give me a chance, give me a chance, give me a chance"
Ya gotta love that man!

Who told her to wear her hair like that?!

The pics of Taylor are great.

Lucky, Squeebee! ;)

Okay, since I know I won't be around until late evening tomorrow, I, too, am going to get a jump on things here.

For Taylor, I know you like dogs but don't have time to have one or enjoy them right now, so I give you this. Just imagine cuddling him and playing with him and letting him fall asleep in your lap.

For Gray, don't be afraid to resort to breaking out this gift if things get out of hand at your site.

For leejolem, I know you're an artsy-crafty person, like me, so I hope you enjoy this as much as I did. (BTW, it was taken from this if you'd like the whole thing.) I *do* like a fella who’s handy about the place.

And for those times when the fangirliness threatens to get out of hand, I also offer this. Yes, I’ve had to use it, too, so don’t feel too bad.

With happy holiday wishes and kisses for EVERYONE,

Merry Christmas, Bama! After reading your thoughts on Just to Feel That Way (that I couldn't agree more with), I knew exactly what I would get you, should it work out the way it did. I don't know if you're a John Hiatt fan, but this wonderful song was the first thing that sprang to mind as soon as I heard Just to Feel That Way for the first time. The piano intro is very similar and I think the sentiments echo nicely. I hope you don't already have this and that you enjoy it! (As well as everyone else, hehe.)

To continue the picture tradition for a group present...one of my favorites that I haven't seen in awhile. Love you all!

Dear Libby:

I thought long and hard about what would make the perfect gift for the Lady who thought so hard about a cafe recommendation for Paris.

I thought of all things french and then changed my mind and want to give you this soulful little ditty I hope you enjoy it!

For Taylor, a bit of Christmas Whomp

For Gray, a little New Year's Wishing

And for all my MonkBot brothers and Sisters... I leave under the tree the following:

John Legend

The Staple Singers

Clarence Carter

James HEH Brown

Bill Withers

Carla Thomas

And last but not least...Joan Osbrone asks a question that has been burning in my mind

Rowan: Dear Lady, I haven't seen you 'round theses parts lately. I miss your quirky stories! The point of view you bring from "across the pond" is priceless! You also add a level of intelligence that I, personally, really admire!

I'm giving you this gift because it reminds me of you. I hope you enjoy it!! Happy Christmas!

Gray: Oh Uncle Monkbot. I hope you like your gift! I would have loved to made it an actual music file, but I'm stoopid and don't know how. I hope you appreciate the tonque-in-cheek absurdity of the idea, but if you heard it, I think you'd be rather impressed. There are many, many more artists that have been "picked on". It's a great series. Merry Holidays!

Taylor- I'm still working on your gift. Feliz Navidad!

Holeigh- I can't wait to listen to my present!! You are so sweet to get me something so special....you shouldn't have!

And to all my merry Monkbots: Ring the bells! Tidings of comfort and joy to you all!

Yaaay! I know the song is quite familiar, but John Hiatt really makes it soar...it's one of my two favorite songs; I have versions by Joe Cocker, Jewel, Mandy Moore, Chaka Khan, and Ilse DeLange if anyone is interested. :)

Jax, as a fellow techtard, I am thinking this video clip will strike as much of a chord with you as it did with me. I love the idea of becoming a Computer Whisperer. if only that worked! I need to get the fixit man out! Have a great Christmas.

Taylor...I am sharing my vision of you in full Highand dress, and recommend the dress kilt and casual kilt outfits. I would also suggest you take a peek at the range of sporrans,as these might go just as well well with jeans, and you could start a trend...just sayin. Guys keep their loose change in their sporrans over here..but you could use yours as a useful place to stash phone numbers. Here's tae ye, Tay! May the New year bring you as much joy as you've brought to us.

Gray...I thought you might like to have these clips from the present series of Monsieur Cowell's flagship show in the UK, the "X-Factor". Two of Taylor's great song successes on AI have made an appearance! Hmmm...Simon, you have been listening, dearie, haven't you? Heh heh. 0--{;8)}
Robert
Ray

Gray and Taylor...you can swap presents if you like...stops me lookin too fangirly, and the kilt looks just as good worn with ironic jauntiness. Christmas Blessings to all!

For me (blushes)?

Here's what I'm getting for you. A discussion forum to organize the TH tour. I know, i know, probably a bad idea. Users cannot create new topics.

If you want to help try it out go to

http://www.graycharles.com/talk

If you do register - please use the name you would like to keep, it seems like its difficult to "get rid" of pesky users.

Thanks

Awww, Bama, thank you!Just in time for dinner, and the cupboard was bare! Hooray!

BTW, the cupboard is mostly bare, because it is dark now, and I have missed going to the supermarket, sitting here trying to get the hotlinking thang right for about two hours. My eyes are jumping, copying down all the wee letters from the link addresses (you can't cut and paste, can you? I tried it) but whoo and hey...it has finally worked, and with just a wee bit of computer whispering/cajoling/threatening with a Dr Marten. Off to munch my Ketchup crisps. Bama, you're a star!

"May your glass be ever full.
May the roof over your head be always strong.
And may you be in heaven a half an hour before the devil knows you're dead."

For Gray, here is Monkey vs. Robot - Part Deux Post that on your site and watch the deck clear...HA!

For Taylor...get your ass back to Alabama and see your Grandma.

For all my precious Monkbot friends, I share a

cherished possession.

Joyeaux Noel and Bon Annee' to you all!

Yay! Rowan likes her present! I figured it was one stop shopping. Ketchup flavored potato "crisps". I saves money too...You know, ketchup is sooo expensive and all...

I'm really trying to incorporate "wee" into my vernacular. Hmmm....my once wee ass is now so large that it's currently tipping the world off it's axis b/c I live in the northern hemisphere. Yeah, that works. (We are having our "bring all yer Christmas goodies to work and stuff yer face day" today. I'm sick already!)

Ok....Tex....this is a bit of a gag gift, but I just had to give you this.

Your real gifts are this and this.

I hope you enjoy them! All the best to you over this festive season, my friend!

To Gray, I give you this in honor of the many "puzzles" on your blog that I never understood no matter how hard I tried. I had fun trying, though! Thanks for bringing such a varied and interesting group of people together.

For Taylor: I give you this to help you on tour (or any other public apperance) to not "miss" any buttons.

Merry Christmas to all my fellow Monkbots...I really do appreciate every one of you!

Yayayayayay...hehehe, sorry, this has been plaguing my mind for weeks now, but I got my final grade this afternoon.

Nolababe, I first thought of getting you this for your uncommon valor in admitting that you liked them. But, instead, I went with this instead because I remember that you like the song, and because there's more of the sexy guitar solo in here. (Oh, and I threw in little something for Bella, too.)

For Taylor, I couldn't figure out what he might want. Something for his new camera? A few more hours in the day for sleep? Not food, because he's heading back home for the holidays and will be well-fed with his favorite grub. So I got him this to match his jacket. If he'd rather not wear it, he can always cut it up and recycle it as throw pillow covers for his couch.

And for Gray, because he no doubt gets asked this a lot.

Oh, and let me not forget our hostess. I thought about sending you this, but without the real thing to break into, that might just be cruel. So I instead will leave this for you under the tree because you so graciously shared your "secret" with us.

Btw...I have recently sampled "Flaming Hot Cheetos", courtesy of a fellow monkbot sistah. Oooorgh..you Americans are tough and edgy. I thought I could handle spicy, but these things are dynamite! Admit reluctantly, that FHC are the boss of me, and I am genetically attuned to my mildly festive tomato ketchup crisps! Boy, are those Cheetos palate-blistering!

Baby Duck, I am so sorry I can't figure out how to send your egifts, so I will tell you what I would have sent if I could have:
1. Pictures of Santa and Smokey Bear wishing you a Merry Christmas.
2. June Cleaver in the kitchen making a festive fruitcake.
3.A really beautiful quilt (wrapped around the even beatifull-er body of the Supreme MonkBot.

My gift for Gray--a picture of my favorite simian--Cornelius from Planet of the Apes and a picture of my favorite robot--Rosie from the Jetsons.

My gift for Taylor--a Bible, so he can stay on the straight and narrow while on tour w/all these crazy soul patrol groupies throwing their panties at him. (and I want to make sure he knows JC's love in his life).

Ok, I think that's it. Sorry they aren't ewrapped. I will have to practice more later.

for IvoryHut...

I,too share your fond memories of the early days at Gray's place. I so loved your analogy of the early days 'o Gray to a small college class. Things change and change can be a good thing, too! Classes seem to somehow take on a personality! So dear Ivory, I have planned a Christmas Dinner Reunion just for you! You can send your new monkbot transportation module
fully equipped with rocking seats, sound systems and funkadelic lighting to round up all the monkbots, and those we have not seen for awhile like Omphalos, Jean, Dave White, SoulTrain,Manders, Hope,True North, War Eagle, Blue Scooter, StrangeLight, Ted, Timbo, Rena and whoever else I failed to mention!

And for cryin' out loud, don't forget to pick up Gray's "Anatomy" on the way! Then, ask them to join us at this groovy hangout for dinner, conversation, deep thoughts that will often interrupted by impolite belly laughing! Enjoy! Merry Christmas!

ps. e-paper cut healing nicely!

And also, the purple velvet pants *nearly* made me pee my own pants. Seriously.

Shell - Loved the Taco Special song! Really really cute.

Yeah, I don't like Haydel's King Cakes but they have the best short history on their site which is why I posted that one in particular. My fave is from a little whole in the hall out by the N.O. Airport called Party Palace. It is DRIPPING in icing, which of course, I love.

And yes, my little black girl DOES happen to be furry and have a tail ... and bark. :)

For those who don't know what I'm talking about...it's kind of like a wet sugar mixture. You actually get the sugar granules to crunch on....but the topping is moist.

First things first...

Shelley, thank you so much for my song. I loooovve that song!! I made my psychopharm class watch it. The furtive glances and and/or glazed looks that came my way were almost as good as the song. However, it has almost ruined my ability to give the Rorschach -- which is shaky at best.

(it's a lip, it's a lip, it's a lip, lip, lip ... Usta!)

Second, I think I must be a moron -- I cannot figure out how to post my picture. Will try sendspace ...
Sigh.

Okay, (I feel like Rocky watching Bullwinkle trying to pull a rabbit out of a hat -- aGAIN??) but here goes …

For you, Holeigh, now that you are done with Chemistry, you need to unwind with a bit of Gray’s Anatomy.

However, I also gift you with a lovely bubbly bath. You probably can use a nice long soak. Merry Christmas!

For Taylor – hmm … A toughie to be sure. I wondered if you needed a new Harp Microphone, but I also offer my boots in case you need a little nudge now and then. I have a nice pair that make a lovely holiday clomping sound.

For dear Gray, here is something that you sorely need, a little getaway. Or maybe just a nice movie with a holiday message.

And for all Monkbots far and wide,

Fah who foraze! Dah who doraze!
Welcome Christmas, bring your light!
Fah who foraze! Dah who doraze!
Welcome in the cold dark night!
Welcome, Christmas! Fah who rahmus!
Welcome, Christmas! Dah who dahmus!
Welcome Christmas while we stand!
Heart to heart and hand in hand!

To: Quossum

You have shown us your creativity, writing talent and giving spirit this year. Whether you are painstakenly making a quilt for Taylor or writing an entertaining rendition like " The Night Before The Twelfth" -- you are sharing your gifts with all of us. And we are so much the better for it.

While I cannot give you a written note from Taylor thanking you for the precious quilt. I can give you some small gifts to bring a smile to your face as you always give to us, your Monkbot family.

an interim salutation until his personal note arrives

a gift suitable for framing

To: Taylor
Congratulations on a stellar year. Thank you for the joy you give in your music and the inspiration you have given to many of us -- to leave our home to hear live music again. Continue to be true to yourself and write the songs that we know are in your heart and soul.

to capture the lyrics of your heart and soul

words of inspiration

To: Gray
Thank you for all of the time and effort you have given to the GC website. It is like no other. You have challenged us to learn more about music and be more articulate. You have also -- pursued a passion through GC. You have initiated a new journey based upon your strengths and interests. We hope you continue to pursue the changes and your passion for music and family.
a second act of inspiration for Gray

Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for A Blessed New Year to the entire Monkbot family and especially to Shelley -- who makes it all possible for us !!!

Love to All, Libby

Thanks, Libby! I love my gifts--and even more so, your kind words. *blushes, rubs toe on the ground*

Did y'all notice on the poster Libby gave me, it says, "Includes the powerhouse #1 hit 'Do I Make You Proud'"? At some point they must have thought they were going to include that on the album. I'm glad they didn't!

MindDoc, Gray's Anatomy had me in stitches, too!

Holiday Love to All!

Texan, thank you for my jet! Woohoo! Everyone, hop on board! Our venue looks sooo chic. I could really use a break like that right about now.

Oh, and I do have a copy of Gray's Anatomy. But it's the actual book, from way back when I was in med school. :)

Nola, glad ya liked the presents! And of course, I knew instantly that you meant Bella, but Shelley's WTF cracked me up!

Okay, off to download/view all the other presents. A fun way to end a looooong day out.

Great idea, Tex!

Awww, thanks Jax! Really most pleased you liked the clip. And you too, MD. Yay!

I wrote this post from my mobile phone, and I was feeling all warmly techy and in-the-know, but couldn't get it so send. Sigh. I need to call in a computer whisperer. My fixit man came today, and says I need another part. Now I will have to go to the computer superstore and look like I know what I'm talking about, but they will know......

Thanks again. yay! Glad you liked it!
